A Knowledge organiser that captures the essential knowledge and skills learnt throughout the now archived unit Music, Year 2, Musical Me.

 

This Music resource is designed to support the pupils as they explore self-expression through music and composition. It introduces key vocabulary such as rhythm, pulse, pitch, structure, and notation, helping the pupils understand how musical elements combine to create melodies and songs. The pupils will also learn to compose and perform simple vocal and instrumental pieces, using different dynamics and tempos to enhance expression.

A Knowledge organiser that captures the essential knowledge and skills learnt throughout the now archived unit Music, Year 2, Myths and Legends.

 

This Music resource is designed to support the pupils as they explore how music is used to tell stories from myths and legends. It introduces key vocabulary such as rhythm, dynamics, pitch, motif, and texture, helping the pupils understand how musical elements create atmosphere and character. The pupils will also learn how composers use repeated themes and instrumentation to represent mythical creatures and legendary events.

A Knowledge organiser that captures the essential knowledge and skills learnt throughout the now archived unit Music, Year 2, Dynamics, Timbre, Tempo and Motifs.

 

This Music resource is designed to support the pupils as they explore how different musical elements create expression and mood. It introduces key vocabulary such as dynamics, timbre, tempo, motif, and structure, helping the pupils understand how composers use these elements to shape music. The pupils will also learn how to recognise repeated motifs in compositions and how tempo and dynamic changes affect a piece’s character.

 

Knowledge organiser – Y2 Music: West African call and response song (Animals)

Knowledge organiser for the Year 2 Key Stage 1 Music unit: West African call and response song. This resource encapsulates the unit’s key knowledge, progression of skills, vocabulary and national curriculum content. This engaging, digestible document is perfect for displaying in classrooms in A3 or handing out to the children to take home.

In the West African call and response song unit, children learn a traditional Gahnian call and response song and recognise simple notation. They also compose animal-based call and response rhythms. The knowledge organiser for this unit helps to consolidate the knowledge learned across the lessons in this unit.

RSE & PSHE: Intent, implementation and impact

An outline of the intent and rationale behind Kapow Primary’s scheme of work for RSE and PSHE for KS1 and KS2 that provides full coverage of the statutory and the non-statutory elements of the new national curriculum for relationships, sex and health education as well as covering the PSHE Association’s guidance.

 

The document explains how the scheme is implemented as a whole school approach with strands of learning relating to family and relationships, health and wellbeing, safety and the changing body, citizenship and economic wellbeing and provides guidance on assessing the impact of the approach.

Computing: Intent, implementation and impact

This document outlines the intent and rationale behind Kapow Primary’s Computing scheme of work as well as how to implement it and how to measure pupil progress and impact.

 

Kapow Primary’s Computing scheme of work enables pupils to meet the end of key stage attainment targets outlined in the national curriculum and the aims align with those in the national curriculum. When used alongside Kapow’s RSE & PSHE scheme, our Computing scheme of work also satisfies all the objectives of the DfE’s Education for a Connected World framework. This guidance was created to help equip children for life in the digital world, including developing their understanding of appropriate online behaviour, copyright issues, being discerning consumers of online information and healthy use of technology.
