Why should we care?

This Religion and worldviews video introduces teachers to the unit “How and why are we here?” and supports children in exploring beliefs about caring for the world across religious and non-religious worldviews. It equips teachers to guide children through key concepts such as stewardship, ahimsa and humanity by comparing perspectives from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and humanist beliefs. The video explains how children investigate creation stories, religious teachings and moral values to consider why some people feel responsible for protecting the environment. It also supports respectful discussion, personal reflection and developing a sense of global responsibility.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and worldviews resources – the world. It simplifies complex ideas, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to help children explore belief, responsibility and sustainability in the lesson and unit below.
