Exploring the ethics of AI
This Computing scheme of work video supports teachers in guiding pupils through ethical discussions about artificial intelligence. It helps the children explore how AI affects individuals, communities and society, encouraging them to consider fairness, responsibility and respect.
The video introduces key ethical themes such as surveillance, job loss, privacy and bias. A class debate on whether AI should replace teachers forms the focus of the lesson, with support for exploring different viewpoints. Teachers are shown how to set clear rules, manage time and encourage thoughtful contributions. The video models how to ask clarifying questions and prompt the children to give examples, building confidence in discussing real-world issues linked to technology.
