Understanding AI prompts and responses

This Computing scheme of work video introduces teachers to interacting with artificial intelligence through prompts and responses. It supports teachers in understanding how AI systems work and how pupils can communicate with them effectively.

The video explains that a prompt is a question or command given to an AI, and a response is the reply based on that input. It shows how AI uses data and algorithms to respond with suggestions or information. Examples demonstrate how refining prompts improves the relevance of responses. Teachers are guided in helping the children practise and improve their prompts, encouraging experimentation with wording and clarity. This video supports confident delivery of hands-on AI lessons that build communication and critical thinking skills.
