Mindfulness in the Buddhist worldview

This Religion and worldviews video supports teachers in introducing key Buddhist concepts through the lens of mindfulness practice. It explains how the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path are central to Buddhist belief and how these teachings support followers in their aim to end suffering and attain enlightenment. The video explores Buddhist practices including seated and walking meditation, chanting, and mindfulness-based tasks such as tea ceremonies and bonsai care, helping children connect ideas about repetition, calm and inner focus to Buddhist worldviews.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and worldviews scheme – Buddhism. It prepares teachers to confidently explore the concept of mindfulness within Buddhism and introduces children to the diversity of practice across Buddhist traditions. By focusing on Zen and Tibetan influences, the video highlights how meditation and mindful activity can be spiritual for many Buddhists. It supports teachers in helping pupils reflect on how mindfulness can be meaningful in religious and non-religious contexts.
