Introducing AI

This Computing scheme of work video introduces pupils to the key facts about Artificial Intelligence (AI), helping them understand what it is and how it works. It explains that AI is a type of technology that allows computers to carry out tasks that usually require people, such as learning, solving problems and understanding language.

The video explores how AI learns using algorithms (sets of instructions) and introduces machine learning, where AI improves by being trained with large amounts of data. For example, AI can learn to recognise cats by looking at thousands of pictures. The children also discover how AI is part of everyday life, from video games and voice assistants to photo sorting and streaming suggestions.
