The importance of strong passwords

This Computing scheme of work video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 2 Online safety unit and supports pupils in understanding the role of passwords in keeping online information private and secure.

The children learn that passwords act like secret keys, protecting accounts from unauthorised access. The video explains how to create strong passwords by combining uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols while keeping them memorable. They are reminded never to share their passwords and to avoid making them too simple or too complicated. This lesson helps pupils understand that strong passwords are essential for protecting their online identity. It and builds confidence in using digital technology safely.
