The importance of strong passwords

This Computing scheme of work video introduces pupils to the concept of passwords and how they help keep online information private and secure.

The video explains how passwords work like secret keys, protecting everything from gaming accounts to school logins. Pupils are guided to explore the importance of creating strong passwords that are difficult to guess. They’ll learn to combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols to create passwords that are both memorable and secure.

Through the lesson, pupils will understand that a strong password is an essential part of keeping their online identity safe. They’ll be reminded never to share their passwords and to avoid making them too complicated to remember.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 2 Online safety unit. It supports children in becoming confident and responsible users of digital technology.
