How seeds grow into plants
This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow Science scheme of work. It is designed for pupils and introduces the life cycle of plants, showing how they grow from seeds or bulbs into fully developed plants. The video explains how seeds are dispersed by animals or wind, and what conditions are needed – water, warmth, and sunlight – for successful germination and growth.
Pupils are guided through the steps of planting seeds and learn how roots, shoots, leaves, and eventually flowers or fruits develop over time. Using time-lapse footage, the video reveals the hidden process of plant growth and encourages pupils to try growing their own plants while learning about the importance of seeds in nature.
The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Science, Reception, Reception units, Our beautiful planet, Lesson 4: Planting seeds
