Introducing text-generated AI
This Computing scheme of work video introduces pupils to text-generated Artificial Intelligence, a tool that can create writing and answer questions in a way that sounds human. It helps pupils understand how AI uses language patterns to generate helpful and natural-sounding responses.
The video explains how AI learns from reading lots of text and how it uses prompts—questions or instructions—to begin a conversation. Pupils see examples of how AI responds to questions, offers ideas and gives detailed answers when a prompt is refined.
They also explore how text-generated AI can be used to support learning, from giving information to helping with decisions or offering inspiration. Pupils are introduced to the idea of using images with prompts to get more accurate or specific answers.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 6 Exploring AI unit. It encourages pupils to explore text AI safely and responsibly, developing curiosity, communication skills and confidence in using digital tools for learning.
