Demonstrating how to turn a T-shirt into a bag

In this Geography video, pupils are inspired to transform an old or plain T-shirt into a bold, expressive piece of wearable art. The step-by-step demonstration shows how simple materials and techniques can be used to personalise clothing and explore creativity through fashion.

Pupils are guided through the process, from planning a design and experimenting with pattern and colour, to applying paint, print or decorative features. The video develops skills in surface design and reinforces sustainability by encouraging re-use and upcycling.

Alongside visual inspiration, the video promotes confidence in making artistic choices and evaluating outcomes, connecting to curriculum themes such as textiles, self-expression and environmentally conscious creativity.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Sustainability collection and supports imaginative thinking and practical making.
