What are physical and human features?

This Geography video introduces Key stage 1 pupils to the difference between physical and human features, helping them to recognise the world around them in new ways. It explains how physical geography focuses on natural features such as land, water and weather, while human geography explores the things people have created, from buildings and roads to fields and harbours. Pupils are encouraged to compare examples, spot the differences and think about how sometimes human and physical features can appear similar.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Geography videos. It builds children’s geographical vocabulary and observation skills, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to guide pupils in identifying and understanding both physical and human features.
