A guide for pupils to show how to make a simple toggle switch

In this Design and technology video, the pupils are shown a method for making a simple toggle switch and how to incorporate this into a circuit.

The video shows the steps of making the toggle switch using a card base, two split pins and a paperclip. Pupils are shown how to connect their toggle switches into a simple electrical circuit with a bulb and battery and how to test it to check they can control their circuits by turning the bulb on or off.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Design and technology videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore and make their own products.
