Discovering China

This Geography video introduces China, one of the world’s largest and most diverse countries.

Key stage 1 children are taken on a visual journey across China’s landscapes and landmarks, from vast farmland and the Great Wall of China to bustling modern cities like Shanghai and Beijing. The video showcases natural wonders such as the Yangtze River, the Huangshan Mountains, the Gobi Desert and the tropical beaches of Sanya, as well as traditional settings like Furong, an ancient town. It helps the pupils appreciate the variety of physical and human features found in China and encourages them to think about how geography influences the lives of the people who live there.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Geography Key Stage 1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore places, environments and the connections between people and the world around them.
