Exploring the meaning of Christmas

This Religion and worldviews video introduces teachers to the Christmas unit, designed to be taught across all year groups annually in the lead-up to Christmas. It equips teachers with the knowledge to guide pupils through age-appropriate lessons that explore the significance of Christmas within the Christian worldview, while allowing space for children to reflect on their own experiences and ideas. The video outlines how the unit develops progressively, from exploring the nativity story and traditions in Key Stage 1, to interpreting the Christmas narrative and its connection to Christian beliefs about Jesus and the Trinity in Key Stage 2.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and worldviews resources – Christmas. It simplifies key theological and cultural concepts, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to help children explore belief, tradition and personal meaning in the lesson and unit below.
