Understanding Puberty: A Key Stage 2 RSE Resource
This informative  and animated Kapow Primary RSE/PSHE video supports Year 5 pupils as they begin to learn about the physical and emotional changes that take place during puberty. With clear, age-appropriate language and visuals, it introduces the changes that happen to both boys and girls as their bodies develop and mature, helping to lay the foundation for healthy understanding and confidence.

Learning About Growing Up
Pupils will explore key concepts including the development of secondary sexual characteristics, such as breast growth, changes to genitals, pubic and underarm hair, voice changes, and skin changes like spots. The video also explains the role of hormones and how they can affect both the body and emotions, normalising the wide range of feelings that can occur during this stage of life.

Safe, Sensitive, and Curriculum-Aligned
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE/PSHE curriculum, designed by experts to meet statutory guidance and support teachers in delivering these important lessons with confidence. It encourages respect, empathy, and body positivity, providing a safe and inclusive starting point for open conversations about growing up.

The video is part of  this lesson on puberty.
