Before starting this unit, you might want to check that the children can recall: How to greet someone and introduce themselves in Spanish. Numbers 1-12 and how to build a phrase to say how old they are.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use audio from the presentation for repeated listening and pronunciation practice; could highlight the initial letters of the character names and cities on the activity sheet. 

Pupils working at greater depth

Could use an atlas or map to research further cities in Spain, add them to the sheet and create new, alliterative character names and introductions, for example, Me llamo Oscar, vivo en Oviedo – My name is Oscar, I live in Oviedo.
