Our approach to the mixed-age Computing curriculum
Designed for schools teaching Computing to mixed-age classes, this long-term plan organises the Computing scheme of work into a two-year rolling programme (Cycle A and Cycle B), ensuring full coverage of National curriculum objectives.
With suggestions for differentiation included in each lesson plan, the mixed-age Computing plan supports progress between year groups, despite the challenges of mixed-age teaching.
What does Kapow Primary’s Computing mixed-age plan contain?
The plan outlines the progression of skills and knowledge in Computing, ensuring that pupils build upon their learning each year in a spiral curriculum.
It covers the statutory requirements of the National curriculum, details the Computing skills and knowledge taught, offers guidance on primary Computing assessment and provides information to support the implementation of Kapow Primary’s Computing scheme within mixed-age settings.
