Pause, rewind, play

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand how to manage their feelings and make kinder choices when something goes wrong. Through a simple story, the children see how misunderstandings can lead to upset and how taking a moment to pause and think can change what happens next.

The video introduces the idea of a remote control with three steps: pause to stop and take a breath, rewind to think of a kinder response and play to try again. By watching the characters use these steps to resolve a disagreement, the children learn a calm and practical way to handle tricky situations and rebuild positive relationships. This supports the children in developing self-control, empathy and problem-solving skills.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
