Legacy of the Romans
In this Kapow Primary History video, Year 3 and 4 pupils are introduced to the legacy of the Romans and how their influence continued long after they had left Britain. The video explains how life changed after the Roman withdrawal in AD 410 and how many Roman ideas, inventions and traditions remained. Pupils discover how Roman roads, farming techniques, buildings and the spread of Christianity shaped Britain’s future.
Part of Kapow Primary’s Historical legacy videos, it explores the lasting legacy of Roman culture on modern life. From the alphabet and language we use, to place names, Roman numerals, our calendar months and even the names of the planets, the video helps pupils recognise how the Romans continue to influence everyday life in Britain.
