A brief history of pedometers from the 15th century to now
In this Design and technology video, the pupils learn how pedometers originated over 500 years ago and the key moments in history that helped develop their popularity, making them something still used today. It introduces early types of pedometers found in Leonardo Da Vinci’s sketches, the movement in Japan to improve people’s fitness around the time of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and modern pedometers used in the 21st century.
