Exploring how movement makes us feel

This RSE & PSHE video guides the children through a simple follow-the-leader movement sequence, helping them explore how being active can make their bodies feel. By copying the leader, the children take part in a short routine that includes warming up, stretching and moving in different ways.

The children follow step-by-step activities such as marching on the spot, arm circles, reaching and stretching, side steps with claps, star jumps and a whole-body wiggle. The video finishes with a calm cool-down using slow breathing and gentle arm movements. The children are encouraged to notice how their bodies feel during and after the activity, helping them understand how movement can make them feel warmer, more awake and energised, or calm after slowing down. This supports the children in tuning in to their bodies and reflecting on how activity affects them.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
