Art and design scheme: Long-term plan — condensed

**The latest condensed long-term plan can now be found in the Art and design curriculum portal.**
This plan outlines Kapow’s condensed Art and Design curriculum for the entire school, and contains important information for teachers, subject coordinators, school leaders, and outside bodies. The structure and organisation of the curriculum, which covers four key areas for each year group: drawing; painting and mixed media; sculpture and 3D; and craft and design, is explained on our Art curriculum information page.

Original Art and design scheme: Key skills by unit (including condensed curriculum)

This skills overview is suitable for use with the original Kapow Primary Art and design scheme. We recommend that schools no longer use this scheme and transition to our revised Art scheme.

This overview shows the key skills covered across each year group and identifies which units give coverage of each of these skills.

If you are following our Long-term plan: Condensed, there are some skills and artists that are not covered. These skills are highlighted on the document with the ✦ symbol.

See our revised Art and design scheme here.

Original Art and design scheme: Intent, implementation and impact

This document outlines the intent and rationale behind Kapow Primary’s original Art and design curriculum (pre-September 2022), how to deliver it and how to measure pupil progress. This information can be used to help create your school’s bespoke Intent, Implementation and Impact statement, tailored to your school.

Our Curriculum overview shows which of our units cover each of the National curriculum attainment targets as well as each of the strands.

Our Progression of skills shows the skills that are taught within each year group and how these skills develop to ensure that attainment targets are securely met by the end of each key stage.

We recommend that schools no longer use the original scheme and transition to our revised Art scheme.
