Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could play their melodic loop on a glockenspiel or other pitched instrument first to internalise the pitch pattern before adding singing.
  • Could compose a melodic loop using just two notes to focus on timing and repetition while reducing the number of pitch choices.
  • Could practise their spoken phrase as a rhythmic chant with clapping to secure the steady beat before adding melody.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should perform their vocal loop confidently without instrument support while maintaining pitch and steady timing.
  • Should support their group by acting as the beat-keeper during rehearsal and performance.
