Keeping active

This PSHE video helps children explore what it means to keep active and how moving our bodies can make us feel. Through simple examples, children learn that being active means moving in many different ways, such as walking, jumping, running, climbing, dancing, swimming, riding a bike or scooter, playing team sports and doing gentle movements like stretching or yoga.

The video explains why keeping active is important. Children learn that movement helps muscles and bones grow strong, supports a healthy heart and can help us feel more energetic. It also highlights that being active can support our brains, making it easier to think and learn, and can help us feel happier too.

Children learn that they should try to be active every day for at least one hour. The video encourages children to think about how they can be active during the week in ways they enjoy.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE resources, supporting children to understand healthy habits and how to look after their bodies.
