This Original Art and design scheme resource centres on the formal elements of Art for Year 1 pupils. It delves into foundational artistic concepts through the exploration of composition, shape, and colour and features various art movements, from Photorealism to Pop Art, spotlighting the works of notable artists such as Beatriz Milhazes and Jasper Johns. Original Art and design scheme: Progression of skills

This skills progression document is suitable for use with the original Kapow Primary Art and design scheme. We recommend that schools no longer use this scheme and transition to our revised Art and design scheme. This new, revised scheme covers KS1, LKS2 and UKS2, and contains everything your school needs to plan, prepare, deliver and assess Art and design. There are also lots of extra resources to guide teachers, support subject leaders and inspire your pupils.
