Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing support
Could roll paper or card around a pencil or glue stick to create cylindrical chair legs during the Main event; could use the same pencil or glue stick to compare and trim all legs to the same length; could use the first method in the Pupil video: Making a chair for a bear to join the legs to the seat; could use pre-made cardboard tubes from household products to reduce the challenge of shaping strong legs.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should build a strong and stable frame with secure joins at connection points using an appropriate method; should measure the lengths of the legs to ensure they are equal using a ruler or by comparing and trimming; could reinforce the joins or corners with additional materials for extra strength.
