Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could name the body parts on stuffed animals and dolls; could draw pictures of body parts when completing the Activity: Venn diagramshould be given the Knowledge organiser to refer to throughout the lesson. 

Pupils working at greater depth

Should be encouraged to add the optional greater depth words (see Resource: Secret Science words: Body parts) to their group drawings in the Attention grabber task; could write sentences about whether they agree or disagree with Sonia (e.g. I disagree with Sonia because she does not have a tail/whiskers).
