1. Recap and recall
Before starting this unit, check that the children can recall:
- Some colour adjectives (see Spanish, Year 3/4 (B), Shapes and colours in Spanish).
- That vivo en… - I live in..., is followed by a place name or noun with an article.
Children in Year 4 may also recall:
- Adjectives should agree with the gender of the noun they describe (see Spanish, Year 3/4 (A), Pets and colours in Spanish).
- How to use me gusta + [infinitive verb] to talk about things they like to do.
- Spanish is spoken in countries in Central and South America (see Spanish, Year 3, Journey around Latin America).
Before beginning the unit, it may be helpful to watch the Pupil video: Why is Spanish spoken around the world? as a class.
