Lesson plan

1. Attention grabber

Explain to the children that they are going to spend some time thinking back over their PSHE lessons from Year 4 and recalling what they learned under each of the topic areas:

  • Relationships.

  • Health.

  • Safety.

Arrange the children into groups, ideally three, six or nine groups, depending on your class size and what will work best with your children. Allocate one of the large pieces of paper for each group so that each has a different topic heading (Relationships, Health and Safety).

Invite each group to write down on their paper what they remember learning about in Year 4 PSHE lessons relating to the topic area they have been allocated.

The groups swap papers, contribute new ideas to another group's topic area, and then swap again so that each group has had the chance to contribute memories to each topic.

Take some feedback on key things that the children remember.
