Adaptive teaching
Pupils who need support:
- Should use the Activity: Positive self-talk starters during their paired mirror practice and during the Activity: My positive self-talk goals.
- Could use mini mirrors independently instead of working with a partner.
- Could draw or write on whiteboards instead of vocalising their positive self-talk.
Pupils working at greater depth:
- Should write their own example at the bottom of the Activity: My positive self-talk goals.
- Should write more than one positive self-talk goal for different settings during the Activity: My positive self-talk goals.
- Could compare two positive statements and decide which is more helpful and why during the Main event.
- Could discuss how positive self-talk links with having a growth mindset in the Mirror talk or Goal-setting activities.
- Could be assigned as a ‘feedback partner’ who listens and offers a kind suggestion to strengthen their partner’s goal.
