Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing support:

  • Could revisit the Presentation: Looking after your teeth (slide 2) to practise each brushing step by miming the actions before planning their sketch.
  • Could watch a short teacher or peer model demonstrating two checklist points and rehearse using the sentence stem ‘First you…, then you…’ before recording.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should explain how sugary ‘sometimes’ foods can cause tooth decay by linking sugar to bacteria that damage enamel.
  • Could extend their dramatised sketch by including an explanation of how good oral hygiene helps to keep teeth healthy for life.
