Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could refer to the Resource: Emotions and feelings during the Presentation: Warnings signs.
  • Could be given hand gestures to help them remember stop, pause and rewind.
  • Could be taught the turtle tuck calming strategy before or after the lesson using the Resource: Turtle tuck. 

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should explain why pausing or rewinding helps solve disagreements more kindly, giving examples of how different choices could change the outcome.
  • Could create their own disagreement scenarios to resolve.
  • When taking the role of remote control, could make suggestions as to how the disagreement could be solved
