Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
- Could use the Activity: Circle of care: support version with headings personalised to reflect their circumstances.
- Could refer to the Resource: Family word mat to select appropriate vocabulary when describing family members.
- Could use photographs of family members to identify who belongs in each ring before labelling their circle.
Pupils working at greater depth:
- Should explain how families can stay connected when living apart by giving examples of ways people show care.
- Should compare similarities and differences between two families respectfully by identifying at least one similarity and one difference
- Could extend their thinking by suggesting how to show respect for different types of families in school.
