Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

Seat the children in a circle and remind them that, just like our bodies, music has a heartbeat or pulse. Sometimes it is fast, sometimes it is slow, but it is always there.

Listen to the link: You've Got A Friend In Me - Randy Newman and model swaying and then tapping on knees in time to the pulse.

Encourage the children to join in with both these movements.

Optional: allow the children to sing along to the words if they know them.
