Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

Provide each child with a mini whiteboard and ask them to draw a three-by-three grid on their whiteboards.

Display the Presentation: Bingo - key vocabulary and explain that in each square they must write one of the listed holiday activities or items of clothing you might pack for a holiday. You may wish to hand out the Resource: Knowledge organiser: Planning a French holiday (one between two) as a support (see Adaptive teaching).

Ask the children to cross off items or activities in their grid as you read them out at random.

  • nager

  • manger

  • faire du ski

  • faire du camping

  • marcher

  • jouer au foot

  • des lunettes du soleil

  • un mailot de bain

  • un short

  • une robe

  • une casquette

  • le pyjama

The first child to cross out three squares vertically, horizontally or diagonally should shout Bingo! to win the game.
