Lesson plan
Before starting this unit, you may want to check that children can recall:
- How to describe the weather in French, including temperature, weather and compass points (see French, Year 5/6 (Cycle A), French weather).
Some French-speaking countries worldwide.
- How to compare nouns by placing plus/moins and que around the adjective of comparison.
Optional – provide each child with a copy of the Knowledge catcher (see link: Assessment – French Y5/6 (Cycle A): Exploring the French-speaking world) and ask them to complete it to the best of their ability. Explain that at the end of the unit, they will revisit it, adding more information in a different colour.
