Lesson plan
In this lesson, the children will use their knowledge of numbers in French and apply it to money sums. The following activity is intended to refresh the children's memory of the numbers 1-30.
Divide the class into five or six groups that you can easily point to and distinguish. Explain that the class is going to count from 1-30, each group taking it in turns to give the next number.
Point to group 1 and they will say un - one. Point to group 2 and they will say deux - two. Continue round the groups until the class reaches 30. As this is both a class and group activity, the children should all be alert.
Depending on how confident the children are, ask them to call out the next number as quickly as they can. For further challenge, reverse the order or randomly pick groups for the next number.
