1. Recap and recall

Hand out and have the Knowledge organiser: Fabulous French food on the tables throughout the lesson.

Vocabulary recall 1—31.

Divide the class into five or six groups. Explain that the class is going to count from 1—31, with each group taking turns to give the next number.

Point to group 1 and they will say, un - one. Point to group 2 and they will say, deux - two. Continue around the groups until the class reaches 31.

Simone Haughey French specialist

Previously a generalist Primary teacher for 12 years, Simone now specialises in Languages. She is MFL Consultant and Languages Teacher at Robin Hood Primary. Her work with Mandarin Chinese resulted in the IoE Confucius Institute for Schools awarding her school with Confucius Classroom status. Simone is also a Confucius Classroom Manager. She teaches Mandarin across the key stages, with reciprocal visits to a link school in Beijing.
