Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing support
- Could use role play or a freeze frame to understand the purpose of a rule by making the consequence visible and concrete.
- Could draw a simple symbol instead of writing to record the rule’s meaning, reducing cognitive load and maintaining focus on the idea of the rule rather than the demands of writing.
Pupils working at greater depth
- Should help peers rephrase negative rules into positive expectations to deepen their understanding by explaining what the desired behaviour looks like.
