Pupils needing extra support: Could work together as a group with the teacher/TA to make a shared moving picture. Refer to the Activity: Design template, and provide the pupils with fewer blocks (story, background, moving part and mechanism) to complete on the task giving them greater focus on one or two aspects. If the pupils need further visual support designing their moving storybook, show them the Pupil Video: Construction from Kapow Primary, Design & Technology, Mechanisms: Making a Moving Storybook, Lesson 3: Construction to support their ideas.

Pupils working at greater depth: Should think about including more than one type of movement on each page – for instance, they might have Humpty and a bird moving on page one.
