Lesson 5: Pattern 3: Flower of life

Using a compass and following precise instructions, children make an image of overlapping and interconnected circles to recreate the sacred geometric symbol, 'the flower of life'.

Pupils needing extra support: May struggle to use a compass so they might require a circular template. Then they need to make sure they position the circle template through the centre point each time they draw a circle.

 

Pupils working at greater depth: Might draw the flower of life more easily and progress to drawing a repeating pattern using this method.
